DGO v1.0 wedge has been completed!

after about 100 minutes in front of the sewing machine with death metal blasting at 2am, i finished my first DGO wedge style messenger bag. the design is very simple and straightforward and was a great learning experience for myself.

the materials were all bought from my new favorite retail store, seattle fabrics

not only do they have an INSANE selection of AWESOME fabrics, they carry everything needed from cam buckles to velcro to mesh lining. i’m sure i’ll be dragging lindi there every weekend to dig through the never ending piles of discounted remnants and scraps.

without further ado, DGO v1.0:

custom camera bag inserts coming soon!
Posted by admin in projects on 04 9th, 2008| icon31 Comment »

last night, i totally disassembled my purchased (read-expensive/overpriced) camera bag inserts to figure out how they’re put together. what i came up with is a solid design for awesomely custom inserts that one day i will have for sale. i’ll be making them from 1.9oz coated black rip-stop and will actually be padded on the bottom, unlike my current inserts.

i made a 1:2 ratio mock-up last night of from paper, plus jotted down tons of build notes and directions for once i get the actual material to make them. it seems easy at this point, but we’ll see what happens when i have the materials in my hand and have at it. my ultimate plan is to offer them in varying colors, sizes and orientations to fit any DIY bag and at a cheaper price than the very limited selection out there now.

pictures and directions to come soon, i promise!
