DGO v1.0 NEO bags are here!
Posted by admin in dgo bags on 04 28th, 2008| icon32 Comments »

after about two hours behind the machine, no template or sketches and a scrap piece of 2mm neoprene i completed the first DGO v1.0 NEO quick-draw style camera bag. it’s stylish and totally functional, made for someone with ADD like myself to get to lenses and accessories quickly without having to spend 5 minutes unzipping and searching through 35 pockets to find what is needed.

this is definitely a lo-fi bag in the sense of simplicity, with 2mm black neoprene making up the body, a comfortable 2″ polypropylene strap and 1050d ballistic cordura for the flap that has been lined with 200d coated oxford. this can be used as a freestanding bag but i see it more as a “bag within a bag” since it dawns a simple, lightweight design. perfect for wedding, sports and wildlife photogs!

our apartment has turned more into a sweatshop than a place to eat and sleep, i’ve been working diligently on getting my designs perfected so i can start getting these bags out there to the public. here’s the latest two i’ve been working on, sorry for the TERRIBLE camera phone pics, they really don’t do the bags or colors justice!

this is the DGO v2.0 wedge, it’s larger than the v1.0 but still small enough to not feel like there’s a mattress on your back.

here’s the DGO v1.0 camera bag, this is the first full size DGO camera bag, it was designed and built to accommodate DGO inserts for complete customization.

i’ve finally gotten down the proper materials and hardware for the bags and am stoked to announce i’ll be only using 1000d cordura (in a variety of colors, of course) plus z69 nylon threading for maximum strength and longevity. for the inserts and lining of my bags a flame retardant 200d coated oxford cordura is being used. no skimping on material quality or the small chance of losing your gear from falling into a fire!

coming soon: neoprene “quick draw” camera bags, be on the look out and check back for updates!

my first DGO sale!
Posted by admin in dgo bags on 04 18th, 2008| icon31 Comment »

yep, that’s right…there has been an order placed for a DGO v1.0 messenger bag! i didn’t even have to advertise, word of mouth is AWESOME! i will definitely enjoy that 20 bucks i’m making on the deal!

if you’ve been wondering what the differences really are between pentax’s k10d and it’s samsung counterpart, the gx-10 HERE is an awesome side-by-side comparison of the two. while the guts and even the lens mount is the same, it appears as though the k10d is of better quality with a more aesthetically pleasing interface. don’t let that stop you from snagging a gx-10 though, they’re commonly MUCH cheaper than the k10d, just don’t hold your breath as b&h has already discontinued carrying BOTH of them.

apparently pentax likes to make money and what better place to do it than the world’s largest retailer? as fucked up and monopolistic as they are i really could give two shits about their business practices, if they offer low prices on the stuff (EVERYTHING) i like, i will continue to shop there.

check it out here

wally world + pentax = heaven!

DGO v1.0 wedge has been completed!
Posted by admin in projects on 04 14th, 2008| icon32 Comments »

after about 100 minutes in front of the sewing machine with death metal blasting at 2am, i finished my first DGO wedge style messenger bag. the design is very simple and straightforward and was a great learning experience for myself.

the materials were all bought from my new favorite retail store, seattle fabrics

not only do they have an INSANE selection of AWESOME fabrics, they carry everything needed from cam buckles to velcro to mesh lining. i’m sure i’ll be dragging lindi there every weekend to dig through the never ending piles of discounted remnants and scraps.

without further ado, DGO v1.0:
